History:

Paper Express was born digital in December 1988 as a Digital Imaging Center. Pioneer in Brazil, it has supplied digital prepress and digital printing services to local, countrywide and a few foreign markets.

 

Paper Express was founded, with only two Macintoshes, a scanner and a laser printer.  It was one of the pioneer computer-to-film bureaus in Brazil.

 

In the last 20 years it has been a pioneer both in equipments and in processes bringing to Brazil many of the most advanced technologies found in Europe and in the U.S. Examples of these were digital color printers, compact scanners, softwares, large format imagesetters, large format plotters, etc.

 

It has also received several Awards and Prizes in diverse worldwide competitions on graphic Arts and printing technology.

 

Equipment:

Colour: 1 Kodak NexPress 2100, 1 Kodak NexPress M700, a Xerox DC2060.

B&W printers: Kodak Digimaster 9100 and a Docutech, a colour plotter HP Designjet T610.

Offset: Heidelberg Quickmaster DI and a wide variety of finishing and fullfilment devices.

FTP is the preferred tool for file upload.

 

Services/products:

Paper Express can provide a broad range of products and services, ranging from high end scanners and retouching images up to digital printing with state-od-the-art Kodak presses and a filmless/waterless offset printing in its Heidelberg Quickmaster DI, all of them with very short turnarounds.

 

Clients:

Major customers include Direct Marketing, Advertising, Incentive and Design Agencies, corporate customers and small designers.  Paper Express has also exported and served overseas customers my means of its exceeding quality as well as its very short delivery schedules for increasingly challenging color jobs.

 

Staff:

Includes a team of 36 well trained professionals, ranging from graphic arts graduates to extremely fast delivery van and motorcycle drivers, lead by Fabio Mortara, Msc at Cornell University.
